Welcome back, it has been a great season here in Korea, cold but great. If you have been paying attention to the news, then you will know that today is the day for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang has begun. Korea is now the center of attention again and this time on a positive note. Let’s hope it continues. If you have not scheduled a trip and it’s not too late to find good deals. With all the good reasons you have for wanting to come to Korea, this is the best reason to go ahead and check out the deals during this event and immediately after the Olympics end.

There are many holidays in Asia and Korea in particular. During these holidays it can be the busiest time of the year. One such important holiday is the Solllal Holiday (Korean New Year) which runs three days of February with the actual holiday being this year on the 16 of February.  For more information on this and another holiday please visit the official site that can be found at http://english.visitkorea.or.kr. During these holidays most government functions are limited so please plan ahead. This year will be especially busy because the 2018 Winter Olympic Games have hosted during the same time span 9-25 February.

If watching the Olympics is not your cup of tea then perhaps you would like to participate in your own winter activities, there are several other ski resorts with adequate slopes that might pique your interest. No matter what your ability level there is a slope for you with over 17 ski areas in Korea is alone to choose from. Rather you choose to go nearby to surrounding area such as Phoenix Condo (Taegi-ro) and High 1 Resort Valley (Jeongseon) or Vivaldi Ski Park (Yangpyeong) and Bears Town (Pocheon-si) not far by the train going west. These ski areas are the most well known but there are many others. I will try to touch on these in the later post.
